In response to the disproportionate number of health disparities among the older Latino population which indicates they are not receiving quality health care and social services, five federal agencies from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) collaborated in October 2007 to assist local cities in developing more coordinated strategies for improving the health and well-being of this at-risk population.
