Emergency Alert Response System (EARS)

The EARS program promotes security and independence of elderly persons by providing a telecommunication device that provides assistance in an emergency.

The program targets residents of the City who are at least 62 years of age, frail, medically needy, homebound, live alone and meet federal income guidelines.

The Department of Aging sent out a notification letter dated February 11, 2009 to all EARS participants regarding a possible scam with medical alert alarm system. All EARS participants and their caregivers should read this letter on how to handle this issue if it occurs.
